What is the best book that your / your favorite author has written? Note that you can only choose one book per author!
After careful consideration, my list looks like this:
In the Dark by Mark Billingham is not a Tom Thorne crime novel but very good nonetheless. It illuminates a darker side of London and it is impossible not to be moved by the book's action and characters. It belongs to one of the few books I will read at least once more.
Patient 67 by Dennis Lehane , I've actually already read twice and I can probably read it a third time. It is simply brilliant!
Crow girl by Jerker Eriksson & Hakan Shoulder obligate Sundquist is one of the best Swedish detective on the market right now. Very exciting and completely filled with cliffhangers that makes you forget everything else. Have not read it yet, it's definitely time.
The Poet by Michael Connelly is the journalist Jack McEvoy who holds the lead role. The title comes from the fact that the killer leaves quote from Edgar Allan Poe's poems on crime scenes and I promise to hunt for him is something special.
Andras torment of Val McDermid 's just another in a series of quite stunning thriller by Tony Hill and Carol Jordan in the lead roles. Murder story is as usual on the border of tasteless but McDermids grip to constantly shift perspective makes it unbearably exciting. World Class!
Stranger by Diana Gabaldon is the first book in the series about Claire and Jamie Fraser. At first I was extremely skeptical but so glad I am that I gave it a chance. Now I've read all the books in the series and I yearn for more.
Buried alive is the book that introduced me to Peter James and it offers a ruffled history that begins with a bachelor party that goes terribly wrong ...
Of course there are many more but these are the ones that stand out the most right now.
