John Connolly ligger minsann inte på latsidan: hans bok The Lovers släpptes först i USA i juni 2009 , cch månaden efter i UK, Irland och Australien. Att den kommer ut i USA före hans eget hemland tyckte jag var lite konstigt, men det kanske hör till vanligheterna?!

Parker is working in a bar in Portland, having been deprived of his P.I.’s license. He uses his enforced retirement to begin a different kind of investigation: an examination of his own past and an inquiry into the death of his father, who took his own life after apparently shooting dead two unarmed teenagers, a search that will eventually lead to revelations about Parker’s own parentage.
Meanwhile, a troubled young woman is running from an unseen threat, one that already seems to have taken the life of her boyfriend, and a journalist-turned-writer named Mickey Wallace is conducting an investigation of his own into Charlie Parker in the hope of writing a non-fiction book about his exploits.

Efter dessa aptitretare blir då i alla fall jag sugen på att läsa båda dessa böcker. Tyvärr är det inte många av hans böcker som översätts till svenska. Enligt wikipedia är det så få som ynka tre stycken. Om detta stämmer eller inte tänker jag återkomma till. Jag tycker att det låter konstigt, men när jag tänker efter är det länge sedan jag såg någonting nytt av honom i bibliotekshyllorna. Om ni vet besked: upplys mig gärna!
Om de nu mot all förmodan inte skulle komma ut på svenska så finns det alla anledning att återigen börja läsa på engelska. Det är mest av lathet som jag siktar in mig på de svenska översättningarna.
